Intramoenia and extramoenia: what is the difference
A private visit (in private practice, paid) can take place in two ways, depending on the doctor:
- Intramoenia: the doctor sees patients inside the hospital. You book through the Pisa University Hospital channels shown below (portal, Call Centre, desk) and pay the hospital.
- Extramoenia: the doctor sees patients in a private practice outside the hospital. You book directly with the practice, at the number given for the doctor: booking, payment and cancellation do not go through the hospital.
How to book intramoenia (in hospital)
- Online, on the regional private practice portal, using your health card details and tax code. Only first visits and similar services can be booked online; the others are booked by phone or at the desk. liberaprofessione.sanita.toscana.it
