If you have a planned hospital admission, bring the following with you when you arrive on the ward:
- Referral (prescription) from your GP ("impegnativa")
- Health insurance card (tessera sanitaria)
- Tax code (codice fiscale)
- Exemption card, if you are entitled to one
- Previous clinical documents (visits and tests)
After admission
You will need to go to one of the hospital's administrative counters. Once the paperwork is complete, you will be given a certificate confirming your hospital admission, for the purposes provided for by law. Please hand this document in on the ward.
