Guido Salvetti was born in Pisa on 19 September 1969.
Academic background
1996 Degree in Medicine and Surgery (108/110) at the University of Pisa.
2000 Specialisation in Sports Medicine (110/110 with honours) at the University of Pisa.
Until 30 June 2005: clinical and research activity at the Department of Internal Medicine of Pisa University Hospital.
From 1 July 2005 to the present
Consultant physician in the Obesity Centre Section of Endocrinology I, Pisa University Hospital.
CLINICAL ACTIVITY
Dr. Guido Salvetti began his clinical activity in 1996 as a trainee at the Hypertension Centre of Clinica Medica I (merged into the Department of Internal Medicine on 1 November 1997) of the University of Pisa (Head: Prof. Antonio Salvetti). In the following years he alternated care work between the inpatient wards and the outpatient clinic. From 2002 he was in charge of one of the Centre's inpatient wards. Besides ward work, Dr. Salvetti carried out outpatient activity and specialist consultations relating to internal medicine conditions.
From July 2005 Dr. Salvetti has carried out his clinical activity as a consultant physician in the Obesity Centre Section of University Endocrinology I, both in outpatient care and in hospital admissions for patients with obesity, including in preparation for bariatric surgery. Since the same date he has taken an active part in organising and delivering the Therapeutic Rehabilitation Programme for patients with obesity, held at Bagni di Pisa, San Giuliano Terme.
In his clinical work, Dr. Salvetti deals in particular with high blood pressure and cardiovascular risk
